Our school has taken part in the Discover Primary Science and Maths project. The project’s overall objectives are to increase the numbers of students studying the physical sciences and maths, to promote a positive attitude to careers in science and maths, engineering and technology and to foster a greater understanding of science and maths and its value to Irish society.
Children in our school are given the opportunity to take part in a variety of science experiments that cover scientific topics such as living things, magnets, electricity, ourselves, light and colour.
In recognition certificates are presented to all students who participate in the programme. Through our participation in the Discover Primary Science and Maths Programme we have won two Awards in Maths and Science Excellence. This award is presented to schools which excel in their levels of participation in Discover Primary Science. We hope to build on these achievements!
