Kandinsky

We have been studying the artist Vassily Kandinsky.  He loved painting bold and colourful paintings with lots of bright and vivid shapes and colours.

We first experimented with the colour wheel making secondary colours from the three primary colours blue, red and yellow.

We looked at Kandinsky’s painting ‘Squares with Concentric Circles’ and loved the different shades of blue, red and yellow that he mixed.  Kandinsky loved brigh colours and believed that colours could express feelings in the same way as music.

Do you think our art work is full of musical expression?
